Gunnar took his first trip to the Barber to get his hair cut. We were excited, yet nervous to see how he would react. Per usual he took it in stride and we had fun.

"This is biggest bib I've ever seen, this must be one heck of a meal"
"Hey! that's my mullet"

Little G looks board while the barber goes to work.
Break time for a snack.
Whoo, clippers.

"Why do I have to look at the ground again"
Finishing him off with a little clip here and there.

Sledding and other Snow related events

Little G went sledding with his friends Lauren and William. It was his first major outing in the snow, outside of standing in our yard during this winter's blizzard. He finally put that snow outfit to good use. He had a great time and the dads didn't have a bad time either.

"Uh, Dad...what on earth have you gotten me into!"

Look Lauren made a snow man....and it is just big enough for Steve.

Uncle Steve and Little G enjoy the sunshine

Cheeeeeeze

Lauren goes on the attack as the snow ball fight commences.

Gunnar hasn't yet mastered the art of the snowball fight as he turns his into a snow cone...."mmmm this is good, needs some salt though"

Uh oh, your in for it now. William has the mother of all snowballs.

Next comes a little sliding hill climb and descent lesson. Lauren masters the descent

Lauren masters the ascent as Gunnar contemplates how to get out of his snow outfit

Little G's first sled ride. Woot!

Dad's help the little ones up the snow bank. Really it's safe...

Bath Time

The G-unit gets a bit messy now that he is feeding himself and walking about so we thought we would share a few bath time photos.

First we have to wash off all the dirt....Little G is a bit occupied with his pelican.

Chewing on anything under the sun is his favorite pass time. Bath time provides no distractions to that.

"I see you with that water bucket....you're not that sneaky"

He has taken after his mother in the water arena. "Yeahaw!"

Hey, time to come out, "where is my pelican!"

First Birthday

Well I just turned 1 and wanted to share some photos from my first Birthday party. The whole family turned out just for me in celebration of my one-ness. I received lots of presents, most of which mom and dad wont let me play with yet and we had a great dinner. I also had my first cake....sort of.

Nice cake mom. I'm thinking you want me to play soccer or something? Call it a hunch.

We opened a bunch of gifts. I'm not sure what this does, but evidently when I turn 18 months I get to play with it.

After presents everyone sang a funny song, and off key I might add. Then mom and dad gave me a cake. Hey this one is smaller than that other one. How come I don't get that one. The then blew out my candle. Evidently I don't get to blow that out until I'm 2. Kind of like the present I guess.

Hey, that ain't too bad. What is that...pure sugar? I like it!

The grandparents got in the act, but I didn't let them get any of my cake.

Hey, I'm feeling a little jittery. Boy this sugar stuff is great!

This cake stuff isn't the neatest in the world. How come I didn't get a fork like everyone else.

I didn't think I could eat the whole thing so I asked my cousins to help out.

More cake ended up on me than in my mouth, but dad said that was OK and that I'd get a fork next year. I guess that is like the present and the candle.

We all went outside to take some pictures.

This is my presidential look. Eat your heart out Obama!

Mom and me snuggle up. Whew! what a birthday. I could do this everyday, why does this just happen once a year?

Firsts

So this last week or so has been quite the adventure. Gunnar has experienced a lot of firsts. In no specific order, here we go....

My First Snow
On December 20th Seattle experienced our first huge snow storm in 10 years. Gunnar experienced his first snow period.

HEY! What the heck is this get-up and what is all this white stuff...

Ummm....Brrr dad, I'm freezing here....I can't stand....I'm sinking.....

First Steps (On Video)

About the same week Gunnar started walking. Here are his first steps

WooooHooo now you're in trouble...

First Major Fall

About the same time Gunnar experienced his first fall while walking. Fortunately we didn't catch the actual impact on tape, but that was because in a vain effort I tried to catch him before he went head first into the foot stool.

No babies were seriously injured in the making of this video

First Steps

Unfortunately no pictures of the event, but Gunnar took his first steps yesterday (Dec 18th) on his own. I had the day off from work and Chris and I were just enjoying the snow and watching Gunnar play when he pulled himself up on the furniture. Something he has done a million times it seems. Only this time he let go turned around and took about four steps before plopping down. Chris and I were amazed. I guess that is how it happens. Just like that. It took us a second, but then we both started yelling and clapping, which of course scared him. Anyway, off to the next milestone I guess.

Santa comes to town

OH MY it's Santa....

Whoa! Who is that funny looking guy. Hey it's cold out there, someone should let him in.

Hey, he must have a key! I guess red is in this year.

I like this song. Well hello there, you seem like a nice guy.

Hmmm...you're a funny looking guy. What's up with the goofy suit and hat. And what is with that beard

Ahhhhhhh!!! That's it I'm out'a here. MOOOOOOOOM!
